Infa Red Scanning

Mid Essex Heating (London) Ltd have embarked on a new type of service to offer to our clientele for 2009. Using the latest high resolution cameras, we are now providing a ‘Predictive Maintenance’ service in the form of an Infrared Survey.

Using the latest generation of Infrared Technology, this powerful and non destructive technique allows a fast, safe analysis of distribution boards and leaks to electrical equipment and any plant on site.

Thermography is an easy way to find and check pipes and tubes for leaks. Even when the water pipes are laid in the floor or under plaster, the actual heat radiates through the surface and the pattern can easily be detected with Infrared.

A simple non destructive survey can be carried out annually to asses the performance or repairs if required.

Generally across all Mechanical & Electrical Services the use of Thermography coupled with a Planned Preventative Maintenance regime can identify sources of potential failure and enable the required remedial works to be carried out on a planned basis as opposed to emergency.

  • Distribution Boards - detection of 'potential fire hazard hot spots' without shutting down systems.
  • Cables - detection of insulation breakdown and 'potential fire hazard hot spots' over and above what a test & report will deliver.
  • Data Centres - Looking for servers running “Hotter” than normal and causing loss of important Data.
  • Motors, Pumps & Gear Boxes - detection of 'hot spots' and early warnings of imminent breakdowns.
  • Insulation on Pipe work - enables sacanning of closed in and exposed pipework identifying insulation breakdowns or total loss of protection.
  • Boilers - scanning of boiler shells for hot spots through poor water flow or shell deteriation prior to a total breakdown occuring.
  • Under floor Heating - scanning of coil elements to determine poor flow rates or leakage.
  • Air Conditioning - possible detection of breakdown in pipe work and plant efficiency.
  • UPS - early warning detection of potential breakdowns from 'hot spots'.
  • Water, Steam and Condense Pipe Leakages - Exact location of leaks under floors and within the building fabric avoiding 'hit & miss' demolition and evacauation works.
  • Flue liners - possible detection of breakdown in the Flue Liners.

Our maintenance surveys will show you a whole new light using our high resolution, full colour, concise report delivery, allowing us to program your maintenance and avoid costly downtime. One site day can reveal several anomalies – each one could potentially be a cause of fire or downtime risk.
